Villa Arbusto Museo Pithecusa

Lovely and interesting Museum, located in Lacco Ameno in a villa originally belonging to the film producer Angelo Rizzoli, which houses about a thousand finds dating back to Pithecusae, an ancient Greek colony founded in the second quarter of the 8th century BC from the Greeks from the island of Eubea. Among these, also the Cup of Nestor, a finding dating back to the last twenty-five years of the eighth century BC, found in the necropolis of San Montano by the German archaeologist Giorgio Buchner, on which there is an inscription which is one of the oldest examples of alphabetic writing.
